Pennsy Supply Provides Concrete Services for Mid-State Home Makeover
Pennsy employees build concrete driveway, sidewalks and provide other services to area family

HARRISBURG, Pa. (April 25, 2005) - Pennsy Supply, southcentral Pennsylvania’s leading supplier of aggregate, concrete and asphalt, recently donated both materials and services to one lucky family in central Pennsylvania. As part of WHTM-TV’s “Mid-State Home Makeover,” Pennsy employees joined with volunteers from companies throughout the region to make one deserving family’s dreams come true.
Modeled after ABC-TV’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” local ABC-affiliate WHTM-TV invited families throughout central Pennsylvania to apply for a home makeover. The unveiling of the new home took place live on WHTM-TV April 22.“Pennsy people have a strong sense of community pride and are committed to making a difference in our local communities,” said Randy Lake, president of the Mid-Atlantic Group. “We could not pass up the opportunity to help a neighbor in need attain the home makeover of their dreams.”
Among the first companies on-site, Pennsy helped lay the foundation for the work ahead by donating its materials and services to provide the family with a new concrete driveway, sidewalks, shed foundation and footings for the new home additions. Pennsy employees also volunteered their time and efforts on other parts of the project, such as helping to lay block for the new additions.
“This project was such a great success all around,” said Brian Groff, Pennsy customer supportmanager. “Everyone had a good time, worked hard and produced a beautiful home for this family. And the best reward was seeing the smiles on their faces when they got their first look at their new home.”
