Fun Mix of Vehicles Hits the Road for Inaugural ‘Pennsy’s Got Guts’ Charity Ride
Pennsy Supply employees ride in memory of co-worker Leroy Kratzer

Harrisburg, Pa. (May 8, 2007) -

Pennsy Supply employees, family and friends took to the roads Saturday, May 5, in memory of Leroy Kratzer, a 16-year Pennsy employee who died last May. An unconventional convoy of more than 80 motorcycles, a fire truck, a Pennsy Supply mixer truck and various cars, vintage cars and trucks made their way from the Pennsy Supply Training Facility in Annville to the Carsonville Hotel in support of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation. Participants raised more than $4,000 for the charity.

The day’s events were kicked off with a breakfast prepared and served by the Pennsy Supply Customer Service department, and a speech given by Cody Kratzer, Leroy’s son, before the start of the 80-mile ride, which passed the Kratzer home

According to Dino Faiola, Area Operations Manager, the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation was chosen as a beneficiary of the ride because Kratzer’s wife, Tracy, and a number of employees suffer from the diseases.

“Leroy was a man of service and dedication to all he touched,” said Faiola. “We wanted to remember him in a way he would have been proud of, and be able to show support for a group that has a connection to many of our employees. We’re very happy that all of these people came out to remember Leroy and give to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.”
