AGGREGATE

Slusser Brothers is the largest producer of aggregate in northeastern Pennsylvania.  The company produces more than 1.6 million tons every year, primarily consisting of crushed stone, sand and gravel. Mining sand stone, Slusser is able to produce an extensive range of small to large size aggregate to the specifications required by customers.

Slusser provides a wide range of aggregate in various sizes, including:

  • AASHTO – American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials certified aggregate. Slusser offers over 10 AASHTO products ranging in size from 3/8 inches to 4 inches
  • Anti-skid – Sand-like aggregate used for highways and borough streets during inclement winter weather
  • Der Sand – Fine sand-like aggregate used for sand mounds in septic systems
  • Rip Rap – Large stone generally used near roads and highways to prevent earth erosion; ranging in size from 6 inches to a maximum of 48 inches
  • Gabion – Smaller form of Rip Rap, also used for earth erosions
